Great view. Too bad the hotel is gone.
One of my favorite places to go as a child. In the early to mid 70s my sister and brother in-law would go past here. We would stop and enjoy the view, and a bite to eat. I was saddened when it burned down. The view from the lot is worth a ride by, even with the the ship gone. Another gem of history that disappeared too soon.
My wife's grandfather helped to build the "Ship Hotel" many years ago so the location has become something of a family waypoint while travelling from the Wash. DC metro area to the Somerset area. It should be noted the building itself hasn't been present for many years but if you happen to be visiting the Flight 93 Memorial it's worth stopping for the views.
