The drive up is fairly steep so if snow is on the roadway 4wheel drive or all wheel drive is recommended.

I strongly recommend bringing a camera and binoculars so you can look at sights that are visible off in the distance.
This is a cool spot day or night and has a gravel pull off for parking. This is strictly an overlook and offers nowhere to go hiking.
Former site of the "Ship of the Alleghenies" inn and restaurant. Burned to the ground, there is little remaining to remind you of the former roadside attraction. Nearby, there is a marker showing you the elevation of "Mt. Ararat" along Rt 30.
It is located on Mt Aarat and is where The Ship Hotel/Noah's Ark was once located.

This overlook is on route 30 between Schellsburg and Reels Corner.
Amazing view of the valley below. Free stop. Rough pavement though.
If coming from the east be careful because you will experience a few very sharp curves in the road getting here.
