I was there alone and as an afterthought, I decided to order some soup to go, so that I could take a late lunch home to family. There was a big chalk board with different soups written on it. I ordered one cup of each soup of the day. I had earlier seen that on the menu, cups of soup were $3 something.

I ate here recently and my experience was mostly good. The service was great. It was clean and everything was up to standards quality wise. I ordered a club sandwich, which was good, but I felt it was a little bit overpriced for its size at nearly $10.00.

Maybe the menu said that there would be an up charge for take out, but I didn't notice it. I didn't have a menu anymore anyway because I ordered the soup just before leaving. The chalk board, which advertised take home cold soups below the soups of the day, also didn't mention an up charge.

We (4 adults, 5 children between 11 and 16 years old) were looking for a place for lunch in between the Flight 93 Memorial and Coral Cavern, and The Schell House exceeded all expectations! We phoned en route, since we saw that a table for 9 would be quite large for their capacity, and they had our table waiting when we arrived. The food and desserts (!) were delicious, and the service was outstanding in every way. We also really enjoyed looking around the gift shop/gallery. Definitely recommend eating here if you are anywhere close to the area!

So glad we took the time to stop in and enjoy the relaxing atmosphere and special experience the Schell House provides! The breakfast omlette and sandwiches were very fresh and satisfying. We also enjoyed some of their delicious baked items and browsing (shopping) the unique variety of handmade gifts. We will definitely be back to try their specialty baked potatoes for lunch.

Here's my complaint though... When I got my bill, it also said that the soup was $3 and some change for each cup, which was pretty reasonable I thought. However, when I went to pay, I was charged $5 something for each cup; which i feel is pretty expensive for the amount that I got. The waitress told me that soup to go was more expensive. I have no idea why that is or should be. The plastic containers aren't worth 2 extra bucks that's for sure.

Very nice and welcoming, let me brose and not hover. Great sandwich and also got mom something for Christmas.

Quaint luncheon place. Portions were filling and tasty. They had wonderful looking baked goods but we were so full after lunch, we didn't get to try any of them.

The food was good and the service was great, but the unexpected extra charge left a bit of a bad taste in my mouth.

I didn't make a big deal out of it because it's 4 bucks, but I'm writing this review in the hopes that the owners clarify things like this. Maybe write it on the chalk board? Bad surprises like this are never good for business.
